Oyo State Is Not a PlayGround For Criminals – Ngozi Onadeko, Apprehending 4 Suspected Kidnappers, 33 Other





The Oyo State Command of the Nigeria Police Force, on Thursday, paraded four alleged kidnappers terrorising the Ibarapa, Igboora, and Eruwa areas of the state.

Reports disclosed that 33 other suspects were also paraded for various offences ranging from alleged sodomy to car snatching and pickpocketing.

Ngozi Onadeko, Commissioner of Police in the state, paraded the suspects on Thursday at the Command Headquarters, Eleyele, Ibadan.

The Police Chief said three of the kidnap suspects abducted their victim on April 7th around Ayete, Ibarapa, Oyo State and collected ransom before releasing him.

She said the victim was macheted and shot, but failed to penetrate the victim’s body.

The victim, Yami Kereku, according to the CP was able to recognise one of the kidnappers, while working in the community and called the police.

Onadeko, narrated how the arrested suspect led to the arrest of other kidnapping suspects.


Further adding that the other kidnapping suspect was arrested in Eruwa area of the state.

The Commissioner of Police stated the remaining 30 suspects, that were arrested, were apprehended for criminal offences spanning alleged pickpocketing and car jacking, in a hotel where they lodged.

She said the suspects travelled from Lagos State, thinking Oyo State would be simpler turf for them to perpetuate their criminal acts.

The police commissioner went further to warn that Oyo State is not a hiding place for criminals and that the men and officers of the command are prepared to ensure that the state was free of crime and criminality.

The items recovered from the suspects include laptops, phones, cash and hard drugs.
