The new governing council of the LAUTECH has appointed Prof. Mojeed O. Liasu as the acting Vice-Chancellor of the institution.
This appointment follows the step-aside order given to the ousted Vice-Chancellor of the Ladoke Akinola University of Technology – Ogbomoso by the Oyo State Government.
This is contained in a decision extract of the 138th and Inaugural meeting of the 10th governing council that took place on Wednesday in the Council Chamber of the institution’s Senate Building.
The decision extract was signed by the institution’s registrar, Dr K.A. Ogunleye.
Prof. Liasu, before his appointment, was the deputy vice-chancellor of the institution.
His appointment takes effects from Friday, 16th of April 2021.
The acting VC is a professor of Plant Physiology Department of Pure and Applied Biology in LAUTECH.
We remember that Governor Makinde, last Friday, ordered that the Vice-Chancellor Prof Michael Ologunde step aside until further notice. The order was served in a letter through the Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, Barr. Olasunkanmi Olaleye.
The VC was also ordered to hand over forthwith to the next principal officer in rank to secure an uninterrupted flow of academic activities at the institution.
