Education Officers Recruitment: Oyo state Releases Cut-Off Marks

The Oyo State Government has released the required cut-off marks for the applicants who write the Education Officers recruitment Computer Based Test (CBT) examinations from 6th -8th of April 2021.

The Chairman of the Oyo State Civil Service Commission, Alhaji Aderibigbe Kamorudeen Abiodun, confirmed this to journalists during a chat on Monday where he assured that all necessary steps and procedures were followed before deciding what the cut-off marks for the 26 subjects tested would be.

The chairman also commended the applicants for their brilliant performances, adding that the applicants involved are all University graduates. He also revealed that fifteen of the applicants hold first-class degrees, most of the rest had 2nd class undergraduate degrees and very few of them had 3rd class degrees.

He further stated that some of the applicants with single Honors also possess educational bias certificates such as National Certificate in Education (NCE), Grade 2 Teachers Certificates and Postgraduate Diplomas in Education.

“You will recall that the Civil Service Commission, had between Tuesday 6th to Thursday 8th April 2021, conducted the Computer Based Test for prospective Education Officers, only Five Thousand, Two Hundred and Sixty-Six (5266) out of the Fourteen Thousand applications received were shortlisted, through the States job portal.

“A total of Three Thousand, Three Hundred and Twenty One (3321) finally sat for the Computer Based Test (CBT). Only Six Hundred and Ninety-Two vacancies exist for the Education Officers Cadre and the best applicants will be recruited, based on their qualifications, performance at the CBT, and the Commission’s interview.”

According to him, the Consultants, who are all education experts, will conduct the interviews to ascertain if the candidates were capable and possess genuine credentials to prove that capability.

Alhaji Aderibigbe also noted that the successful applicants would be given two weeks’ notice so they could access and print out letters of invitation to be interviewed from the Oyo State job portal.

He rounded up his remarks by applauding the generosity of the Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, for prioritizing merit and competence along with geopolitical zone consideration in his recruitments.
