On August 24, a magistrates’ court in Iyaganku, Ibadan, remanded Joshua Ayeni, 41, to the Agodi Correctional Facility for defiling and impregnating his stepdaughter, age 13.
His remand was issued by Magistrate Patricia Adetuyibi, who postponed the hearing to October 20 in order to await the DPP’s recommendation.
The defendant was accused of defilement and impregnation on two counts by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the defendant lives in Ibadan’s Molete neighborhood.
According to the prosecution, Olurotimi Afe, Ayeni defiled his stepdaughter in January while she was living with him and his wife, and she later became pregnant.
