…the government of Oyo state, through the appointment of a known violent actor, contributed to Oyo state insecurity, another legal expert says
Former Attorney General of Oyo state and a member of people’s democratic party in Oyo state, Barrister Mutalubi ojo Adebayo, has opined that the sack given to the National union of road transport workers ( NURTW ) about a year ago was unconstitutional and illegal on a radio programme tagged “cross fire” in a popular radio station, Fresh Fm, in Ibadan anchored by Mayor Isaac brown every Sunday evening.
The Barrister who served as Oyo state Attorney under Ajimobi’s government also made it known that he was the union’s lawyer at the time when Oyo state government proscribed the organization and replaced it with Park management system (PMS) about a year. He also commended the union for taking legal steps rather than take violent actions to rebel against what he called an illegal proscription of an organization that is not a department under the government. He also accredited the rebranding of NURTW to Ajimobi’s actions when he was Oyo government.
On same programme, Barrister Ola Fatai Adeosun loathed and described the Oyo State government as irresponsible and careless in handling the security situation of the state, he pointed out that the appointment of a particular violent actor ( name withheld ) as the chairman of Park management system (PMS), an initiative used to replace NURTW, has emboldened the thugs, gang members and hoodlums in the nook and cranny of the state, Ibadan especially hence, why we see happenings of unstoppable unrest and gang clash in Oyo state.
The guests on the programme advised the government to be proactive and not reactive in handling security affairs in Oyo state
