Ranching is a Private Enterprise, Oyo will Never Construct Ranches for Herdsmen — Oyo Govt

Oyo State Government has said it is not mandated and will never construct ranches for herdsmen to rear their cattle in the state.

This was disclosed by Taiwo Adisa, the Chief Press Secretary to Oyo State governor, on Thursday.

He said herdsmen in the state are at liberty to apply for land purchase to construct ranches for their business.

He added that ranching is a private business and interested parties are free to purchase land to build their business just like other entrepreneurs.

He stated that, “The Oyo State anti-open grazing law sees ranching as a personal business. Herdsmen are free to apply for land for that purpose.”
