In a brave operation executed by the Oyo State Joint Security Network in collaboration with the Amotekun Corps, the Oodua People’s Congress (OPC) and the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN) in the waking hours of today, 29th April 2021, they arrested six (6) bandits while on a joint routine patrol around Kajola Local Government Area of Oyo state.
The armed men were individually arrested after encounters at 2 illegally mounted Roadblocks. The criminals made attempts to flee the crime scene, they were caught after a hot pursuit by the joint forces.

The bandits’ names are as follows: Awali Atine, Ibrahim Abu, Shuaib Balau, Ibrahim Musa, Abdullah Masika and Umar Aliu Masika (All 6 arrested were of Bororo Fulani ethnic group) were arrested along Okeho-Ilua and Okeho – Iseyin Road at about 4 am on Thursday, 29 April 2021.
The bandits’ modus operandi was to pretend to be herdsmen in the mornings and afternoons, then at night they violently rob innocent passengers on the highways. They were apprehended with 183 cows, several weapons and a total sum of #268, 470.00, in their possession.
They have been transferred to the Nigeria Police Force of the Okeho Divisional HQ alongside their 183 cows, weapons and money found in their possession for further investigation.

The Oyo state police have also urged well-meaning Nigerians who have information regarding these arrested criminals to come forward with information that can help the Police force bring criminals at large to justice and to improve security in the state
