Oyo State governor; Engr. Oluseyi Makinde has directed the release of N100 million to the Oyo State College of Education, Lanlate, Ibarapa East Local Government of Oyo state.
Makinde who revealed this during a working visit to the institution on Friday, promised that the N100 million sum will be released in batches stating that half will be provided immediately while the remaining half will be granted in the middle of the year.
Meanwhile, Governor ‘Seyi Makinde has urged the institution’s personnel to end their protest, saying that the grievances highlighted will be adequately addressed.
Captain Bisi Ojebola (rtd.), Chairman of the College’s Governing Council, welcomed the governor and his entourage and asked for the state government’s help in bringing the college ahead.
Others who spoke at the event included members of the teaching and non-teaching staff, as well as the institution’s Students Union President, Comrade Alao Quadri, who asked Governor ‘Seyi Makinde to take immediate steps toward finding long-term solutions to the institution’s difficulties.
