Prof. Mojeed Liasu, the Acting Vice-Chancellor of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, Oyo State, says the death of Asefon Nifemi Bernard, a final-year student of the institution, will be thoroughly investigated.
He gave the assurance on Monday while meeting with the leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students, South-West Zone.
The NANS South-West leadership was led by its Deputy Coordinator, Uthman Oladimeji.
The Acting VC described the death of Asefon as unfortunate and a rude shock, a death that could have been avoided.
Adding that members of LAUTECH management are parents and so they can the terrible pangs of the occurrence.
Liasu said that the management will get to the root of the matter to prevent future occurrence.
He urged the students’ leaders to enlighten their members on responsible unionism and discourage the destruction of public property.
Liasu said that the management is ready to resuscitate student unionism on campus.
