The Oyo State Government has revealed that it has paid not less than N32.5 million in compensation to families of Western Nigeria Security Network dubbed Amotekun agents who died while discharging their duties.
The state government revealed this on its citizen/residents social media feedback page on Wednesday, disclosing that direct family members of the deceased Amotekun Corps members, including as spouses, children, parents, or siblings, were compensated, depending on the circumstances.
Recall that at an event commemorating the first anniversary of the State Security Network Agency and the commissioning of an ultra-modern state headquarters, Engr. Seyi Makinde, the Oyo state government made a N32.5 million donation to the families of 13 Amotekun Operatives who died in the first year of the outfit’s operations.
As a result, the state government commends all personnel of the Oyo State Security Network Agency (Amotekun) for their bravery in keeping watch over the state so that inhabitants and residents can sleep soundly at night.
