…Assures LG Chairman of peaceful coexistence
The leadership of the Nigerian Immigration Service, Oyo state command paid a visit to the Chairman, Ibadan North Local Government, Hon Yusuff Sahib Oladayo, at the council Secretariat.
The Immigration Service’s courtesy visit was led by Compt. I.A Dansule and other senior officers.
According to the director general of the immigration service in Oyo state, the visit, which was ordered by the Comptroller General of the Federation (CGI) Muhammad Banbadede MFR, was his first official visit to the state since his deployment to apologize on behalf of the immigration service for the ugly incident between the immigration service and the local government, as well as to make a restitution.
“It’s of goodwill that we continue to cohabit as one big family just like we have always been, the oyo state immigration service will never undermine the support shown by the local government in the past years and as such will forever not be taken for granted.” Compt. I.A Dansule assured.
Hon. Yusuff Sahib Oladayo, chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, praised the effort made so far by the Immigration Service reconciliation team in ensuring peace and friendly co-existence between immigration and local government men.
He also urged them to keep up the good work, saying that immigration officers should take a grassroots and friendly approach not just to politicians, but to ordinary citizens as well, because the uniform and everything they represent is in Nigerians’ best interests.
The council leader disclosed that the Ibadan north local government would continue to engage with the Immigration service to provide better service to the public,.
