Two mosque executive of a central mosque in Ibadan has been dragged before a madustrate in Ibadan over their alleged stealing of mosque’s fund.
The individuals identified simply as Abdulateef Jimoh, 46, and Abdulrahman Jimoh, 43, were arraigned for alleged theft of N605,000 belonging to Ago-Ibira Central Mosque, Mokola, Ibadan.
Gbemisola Adedeji, the prosecution investigator, told the court that the duo allegedly conspired to perpetrate the crimes between 2018 and 2021.
She claims the two stole the money, which they were supposed to deposit in a first-generation bank with which the mosque had an account.
The defendants, on the other hand, have pled not guilty to the accusations, and their lawyer, Sunday Adediran, has asked for their release to be granted in the most generous terms possible.
The matter was adjourned to March 15 for further hearing by Senior Magistrate O. A. Akande, who granted them bail in the sum of N200,000 apiece with two sureties in the same sum.
