Safeguard Power Facilities In Your Vicinity – Oyo Commissioner for Energy Urge Residents

Oyo state government has restated its commitment towards ensuring adequate power supply to improve the economic and commercial activities of the people and also advised residents to protect the power facilities in their vicinities.

Barrister Temilolu Seun Ashamu, the State Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, asserted this while examining the new Awe Energy facility at the Rural Community Development Centre in Oyo town, the 132/133/11kva substation also in Oyo town and the ongoing light-up project in Oyo and Ibadan.

He promised the people of the State that the Seyi Makinde administration was committed to transforming the economic and commercial activities in Oyo State using a steady power supply because it remained the reliable economic backbone anywhere in the world.

He however advised the people to protect the power facilities in their areas so they can serve the purpose for which they were provided.

“The economic growth of our dear State is on the rise and the present administration has hinged this development on the adequate power supply to the people.

“We are working round the clock, with other stakeholders in the power sector to use electricity to promote the economy, using the national power grid and solar system.

“Small scale, medium scale businesses and big industries rely on the steady power supply to survive and make a profit, we are using this angle to make it possible.”

He reported with delight that the campaign promises of the present administration were executed to the letter, further advising people to support Governor Seyi Makinde in his mission to move the Oyo state forward.

Ashamu concluded by promising them, that government was working towards ensuring early completion of all on-going power projects in the State.
