OYSG To Partner NEPC on Food Production, Exportation

The executive governor of Oyo State has said his administration would partner with the Nigeria Export Promotion Council (NEPC) in capacity building to attain global standards of exportation.

Makinde said this while receiving a courtesy visit from Chief Olusegun Awolowo, the Executive Director, Nigeria Export Promotion Council, in Ibadan.

The Governor was represented by Mrs Olubamiwo Adeosun, the Secretary to the State government, who said that the State Government had moved from small scale farming to agri-business.

She noted that the State has constructed numerous roads that will enable farmers to transport their farm produce from the farm to the market, which will also make life conducive for these farmers.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Economic Affairs, Professor, Musbau Babatunde, also spoke at the event, he said the administration is building processing plants for the preservation of the product and will create enabling environment for private businesses to thrive in the State.

Adding that the government agencies are training women and youths on shea butter production at Akufo, Eruwa, and Fashola Farm estates.

In his remark, Chief Olusegun Awolowo, the Executive Director, Nigeria Export Promotion Council, advised the State Government to partner with the Commission on its ‘Safe Job, Create Job’ initiative.

Adding that the commission would also partner with the State government to modernise the Okerete border market for the benefit of the state’s residents

Also present at the event was the South-West Coordinator (NEPC), Mr Samuel Oyeyipo and Oyo State Coordinator (NEPC), Mrs Bolanle Emmanuel.
