Officers of the Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority (OYRTMA) have recovered an abandoned, stolen Toyota Camry vehicle at an isolated spot, off LAUTECH Main Gate, Ogbomoso, Oyo State, during routine operations around the area.
The Director–General, OYRTMA, Dr Akin Fagbemi while speaking to journalists, said “The car, with customised number plate ‘Jagun Alayede’ was sighted parked at an unusual and suspicious part of the road, off the main gate of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, where It was abandoned by an unknown driver.
“Our officers on their normal routine therefore swiftly evacuated the vehicle to our Ogbomoso Zonal Command, after which information later got to us that the vehicle had been reported stolen at radio stations and some police stations.
“We have since called on whoever has information on the owner to kindly come forth with relevant documents to claim the vehicle as we have intimated radio stations and relevant police formations that we have assumed custody of the vehicle”, Dr Fagbemi said.
The OYRTMA boss added that the authority would continue to do all within its powers and in conjunction with other security agencies, to help reduce travel time and maintain law and order on roads within the state, in a bid to further complement the efforts of the Governor ‘Seyi Makinde–led administration towards delivering on its four cardinal agenda in the areas of improved state security, education, healthcare system and enhanced economic growth and development.
