OYRTMA Chairman Prevents Jungle Justice As Woman Assaults Traffic Officer In Ibadan

Mogaji (Dr.) Akin Fagbemi, the Executive Chairman of OYRTMA, on Wednesday 20th January 2020, prevented a major crisis at the Oluyole Estate axis of Ibadan Southwest Local Government Area where an OYRTMA Officer who was executing his rightful duty in the area, was assaulted by a woman known as “Aramide Amoke”

Eyewitness report stated that Mrs Aramide was driving on ‘‘one-way’’ and against traffic leading to the officer on duty attempting to stop her vehicle and make her follow the right lane.

This did not go down well with her and she reportedly slapped the officer repeatedly.

Other motorists, passersby, commercial motorcyclist and eyewitnesses were angry and irritated at her actions attempted to mob her and raze her vehicle.

The Executive Chairman, Dr Akin Fagbemi, was contacted and he swiftly moved to curb the rising crisis by first sending a nearby representative who diffused the tension, seized the vehicle and took it alongside the assaulter to the OYRTMA Headquarters until the time she would be charged to court for assault and deliberate breach of the Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority Law 2009.

Dr Akin Fagbemi, however, arrived in person at the scene and restored complete normality while guaranteeing angry eyewitnesses that justice would be delivered following the existent laws of Oyo State.

He appreciated the crowd for their ability to control their rage and from not taking laws into their hands.
