Oyo State Police authority has confirmed the detainment of three operatives of the Western Nigeria Security Network codenamed Operation Amotekun, Oyo State branch.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Oyo Command, Olugbenga Fadeyi on Saturday said the police acted to a report from the Secretary of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association (MACBAN), Oroji Allah on an alleged plot by the Amotekun operatives to burn down the Gaa Fulani in Orile Igbon.
Fadeyi replying an earlier message sent to him seeking his reaction on the matter explained that the police officers were dispatched to the scene to bring the operatives to the station so that the matter could be resolve by the DPO.
However, the PPRO alleged that the Amotekun corps, numbering about 30 later invaded the station and conducted themselves in an unruly and riotous manner.
This led to detaining three of them.
Meanwhile, Officer Fadeyi refused to comment on the alleged shooting of an operative by a DPO during the time of detainment but insisted that the Area Commander of Ogbomoso is handling the matter.
