Oyo State Judiciary has declared that it will be embarking on a one-week Easter break from April 2 to April 9, 2021.
Justice Munta Ladipo Abimbola, Oyo State Chief Judge, in a statement, hinted that the break applies to all the courts within the state’s jurisdiction.
Justice Abimbola while giving the directive stated that the break obeys the provisions of the Civil Procedure Rules and all other laws enabling him to do so.
“In exercise of the powers conferred on me by Paragraph 4(b) of Order 45 of the High Court (Civil Procedure) Rules, 2010 and by virtue of all other powers enabling in that behalf, I, Abimbola Munta Ladipo, Chief Judge of Oyo State, hereby appoint the period commencing from the 2nd day of April 2021 and ending on the 9th day of April 2021, both dates inclusive, as Easter Recess of the High Court of Justice, Oyo State of Nigeria,
“During this period, civil actions may be heard where such actions are urgent or a judge at the request of the parties concerned, agrees to hear such actions.” the Chief Judge stated.
