More runaway inmates from the Nigeria Correctional Service’s Abolongo Custodial Centre in Oyo State have been apprehended on Monday at a Community in Osun state.
According to reports, 13 fugitive convicts were apprehended on Saturday in Ife-Odan village, a border town between Oyo and Osun state.
A top police officer who spoke on the condition of anonymity on Sunday evening stated: “Our men made more arrests of the fleeing inmates at Origo village via Ido in the early hours of Monday aside from the initial 13 we arrested on Saturday night.
“They have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for proper handing over.”
SP Yemisi Opalola, spokesperson s of the Osun Police Department did not return calls or texts seeking confirmation of the new arrests.
