Governor Seyi Makinde and Former governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose have been dragging issues with themselves for some days now over the issue of the party’s leader in the Southwest. It is normal and common to have politicians arguing with each other but they have to be cautioned on time before it causes some internal crises in the party
Mr Ayodele Fayose said Governor Seyi Makinde is still a novice in politics and referred him to ” a baby governor”. He said Governor Seyi Makinde is still his follower in politics because he has been in the game for a long time now. Fayose said that the PDP has agreed to use a former commissioner in Ondo State as the leader.
Governor Nyesome Wike of Rivers State has to intervened now in the issues and settle it once and for all before it becomes full time impasses within the party. Wike has promised to take the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to its promise land and he would not allow the party to be divided. In order to fulfill his promises, he should come and settle the issue.
Wike should nominate Governor Seyi Makinde ( GSM) of Oyo State as the leader of the party in the Southwestern part of the country. Anyone who knows what politics should be played will know the qualities that Seyi Makinde possess that makes him stand out.
Seyi Makinde is the only PDP Governor in the Southwestern part of the country presently. All the states in the geopolitical zone have APC Governors except in Oyo State where we have a PDP Governor is. If PDP denies him this entitlement now, he might retaliate later and that would cost PDP a lot as twenty twenty three presidential election approaches
We cannot forget all what he has done for the party in the last Edo and Ondo State Governorship elections. Some important PDP rallies and meetings are always taken to Ibadan in Oyo State. That shows how important Seyi Makinde is in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
