Discord seems to be brewing inside the Oyo state government, as reports reaching us is stating that the Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Rauf Olaniyan, has pledged not to truncate the disagreement between him and his boss, Seyi Makinde. A close source to the Deputy Governor’s team revealed this.
It will be recalled that last year he condemned his immediate boss in a steering committee report set up by this same boss and led by Chief Saka Balogun, ex-chief of staff to Adebayo Alao-Akala, an ex-Governor of Oyo State.
In the report, he alleged that Makinde relegated his office and deemed him unfit to handle the state’s matter. He was further stating that Makinde has taken the state to be his private and personal office, which is unconstitutional.
Recently a close source to the Deputy said he, the Deputy has vowed not to honour an invitation by the Governor anymore, due to the neglect he suffers from the Governor.
Olaniyan allegedly spent billions of naira in the Oke-Ogun area of the state to ensure their party victory during the 2019 elections. Yet, he is being treated as an outcast by his boss — who is not rewarding his sweat and loyalty.
He is not ready to have an agreeable settlement with his boss, and he means his statement.
This is coming on the heels of a recent meeting between an Oyo PDP Chieftain, Alhaji Olopoeyan, and the National Leader of APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Olaniyan and Makinde at Loggerheads.
