LAUTECH ranked fourth best university in Nigeria

Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, has been confirmed the best state university in the country and the fourth best university in Nigeria by the NUC, a development happening after over a decade that the institution was last ranked in top five.

The university which is owned by the Oyo State government is also rated as the fourth best varsity in the country.

The Public Relations Officer of the university, Mr Lekan Fadeyi, in a statement on Monday said the body made the announcement of the ranking on Monday.

He added that the body ranked the University of Ibadan, Redeemers University and Covenant University only ahead of LAUTECH.

The statement read, “The university (LAUTECH) owned by the Oyo State government, is coming after the University of Ibadan, Redeemers University and Covenant University.

“Titled 2021 ranking of Nigerian universities, the ranking instituted by the National Universities Commission , as one of the several drivers of quality improvement of Nigerian University system was powered by the League of Directors of Academic Planning of all universities in Nigeria.”

Recall that Webometric and a Turkish research institution also ranked Lautech 11 & 12 best university in Nigeria earlier this year.

LAUTECH became solely owned by Oyo state after Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State brokered a deal with Governor Oyetola of Osun state in November 2020.
