The state owned University of Oyo state, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso has received the largest portion of the N18,117,000,421 budgeted for the administration of tertiary institutions in the State for the fiscal year 2022.
In a critical analysis of the state’s N294.7 billion appropriation bill signed into law by Governor Seyi Makinde on December 22 by the Nigerian Tribune, LAUTECH’s combined recurrent and capital expenditures equal N6,154,000,000.
Occupying the second position is the state’s Polytechnic; the Polytechnic, Ibadan, whose budgetary allocation is pegged at N3,366,736,410 in 2022.
On further analyais of the budget, it was discovered that N3,329,888,262 was allocated to Emmanuel Alayande College of Education while the Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igbo-Ora, will receive N1,367,984,551.
The College of Education in Lanlate, which has a budget of N1,140,944,400, is set to open in 2022, while Oke-Ogun Polytechnic in Saki has a budget of N976,225,400.
The entire approved recurring and capital expenditure for Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic, Eruwa is N840,412,770; the Oyo State College of Nursing and Midwifery has a budget of N425,751,612; and the College of Health Science and Technology, Eleyele, Ibadan has a budget of N275,057,016.
With a budget of N240,000,000, First Technical University completes the list of ten state-owned tertiary institutions.
