Members of the Olubadan in-council; Ibadan High chiefs have donated huge sums, running into millions to to the restoration of the road leading to the Alarere house of Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Lekan Balogun.
High Chief Olubunmi Isioye, the Ekerin Balogun of Ibadan land who spearheaded the campaign donated N2 million.
High Chief Tajudeen Ajibola, Otun Balogun of Ibadan land, revealed this during the Olubadan-in-Council meeting held at the monarch’s Alarere home on Tuesday.
Members of the Olubadan-in-Council were displeased with the state of the road leading to the palace, according to High Chief Ajibola, prompting the action championed by the Ekerin Balogun.
He noted that with the donation, efforts would be made to fix the road as quickly as possible.
With effect from June 2022, the council has lifted the restrictions on the advancement of High Chiefs, the installation of Baales, and the appointment of Mogajis.
“After the suspending exercise is completed, it will be the turn of the Iyalode line, and then we will begin the installation of new Baales and Mogajis.” “The meeting determined to clean house and guarantee that all council members are included in the processes leading to chief promotions and the installation of Mogajis and Baales,” he remarked.

Meanwhile, all of the High Chiefs, led by Balogun of Ibadan land and Otun Olubadan designate, High Chief Owolabi Olakulehin and Sen. Rashidi Ladoja, were present at the meeting.
Other Olubadan-in-Council members in attendance were High Chiefs Lateef Gbadamosi Adebimpe (Osi-Balogun); Kola Adegbola (Ashipa Balogun); Olubunmi Dada Isioye (Ekerin Balogun); Abiodun Azeez Agagagugu (Ekerin Balogun); Eddy Oyewole (Osi Olubadan designate); (Ekerin Olubadan designate).
