Immediate former First Lady of Oyo State, Dr (Mrs) Florence Ajimobi during the past weekend hosted a number of the All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftains, in her Oluyole residence.
The former First lady speaking said she desires to concretise the legacies of her late husband, one of which was to continue on the peace process that he embarked upon before his demise.
Adding that she’s not interested in politics and not aspiring for any political position.
Her words: “One of the things on his mind was to ensure that peace reigned in Oyo APC. He wanted all the different factions to come together.
“I am not interested in politics, I am not aspiring for any political position. As a politician’s wife, I can only support as I have always done when my husband was alive and I will continue to offer that support. “
The former First Lady hosted members of the APC family to Iftar and extended the weekend hosting to those who could not be accommodated during the period.
The event was for the important dignitaries in the Oyo State APC family.
The weekend of the meeting started on Saturday when the National Assembly members stormed her residence.
Among the visitors were the two Senators representing Oyo State at the upper chambers, Senator Teslim Folarin (Oyo Central) and Senator Abdulfatai Buhari (Oyo North).
The lower chamber colleagues also attended the event, notably were Hon Akeem Adeyemi (Skimeh), Hon Olaide Akinremi, Hon Tolu Akande- Shadipe, Hon Olumide Ojerinde, Hon Akin Alabi, Hon Olatunbosun Olajide and Hon Shina Peller. They were joined by the State Caretaker Chairman of the party, Chief Akin Oke.
The victorious ALGON team, took their spot at her residence the next day.
Present were all the 68 local government chairmen now referred to as Forum 68 who were all in ebullient spirit over their victory. They were led by the State Chairman, Prince Ayodeji Abass-Aleshinloye.
The governorship aspirants and the party gubernatorial candidate in the 2019 election, were also present.
Present were Oloye Adebayo Adelabu, Dr Olusola Ayandele (Eruobodo), Mr Joseph Tegbe, the international surgeon, Dr Azeez Adeduntan, Ayo Kareem, Prof Soji Adejumo.
Others at the event are former Commissioner for Justice and a member of the legal team, Mr Seun Abimbola, SAN, former Head of Service, Mrs Hannah Ogunesan, former Commissioner for Lands, Mr Isaac Omodewu, former Special Adviser on Communication and Strategy, Mr Bolaji Tunji, former Executive Secretary, Oyo State Security Trust Fund, Mr Femi Oyedipe, the State APC Woman Leader, Mrs Mabel Williams, Sir Wale Murphy, Mr Olugbenga Olayemi, among others.
Also on Saturday morning the Ajimobi Legacy Forum (ALF), visited and she hosted them.
Where each of the guests paid glowing tributes to the late Immediate past, two-term governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi.
They nostalgically recounted his tenure that witnessed infrastructural development in the State.
Most paid glowing tribute to the state of peace and stability that was the hallmark of the administration.
They equally showered tribute on Mrs Ajimobi for her initiative that made the coming together of the various factions in the State APC, possible.
