Gunmen Hits Ibarapa Again, Kidnaps Man, Asking for ₦7m Ransom



A group of gunmen on Friday evening kidnapped a Fulani man; Amodu Shehu at Abule Oba in Ibarapa, Oyo state.

Reports placed the time of the incident at exactly 7 p.m. on Friday immediately after his return from his farm.

Narrating the event to media officers this morning, the victim’s father; Alhaji Umoru verified the sad event and said the kidnappers shot sporadically into the air in their village, before kidnapping his son and taking him away, he added that he is still struggling to come to terms with the surprising event.

Alhaji Umoru noted that the case has been reported to the DPO in charge of Ayete Ibarapa North and one of the local chiefs, Chief Odofin.

He said, “Police officers followed us to the village on Saturday morning and we both saw bullets of those people.”

Alhaji Umoru said, “the kidnappers called yesterday morning and they demanded N10 million as ransom before they can release my son. They later called back in the evening to reduce the ransom to ₦7 million.”
