Gov. Makinde Sympathize With Family Of Moniya Flood Victim

Engr. Seyi Makinde, the governor of Oyo State, has expressed his condolences to the relatives of Abiodun Adeleke, a 28-year-old man who drowned in a recent flood at Onilu-Moniya area of Ibadan, the state capital.

Adeleke, a native of Onilu-Moniya, died on Thursday while assisting three bike riders to cross the Asanmajana River amid a severe downpour.

Governor Makinde who was represented by the Chairman of the Oyo State Road Maintenance Agency, OYSROMA, Hon. Kamil Akinlabi Mudashiru during a visit to the Onilu Central Landlord Association to discuss the recent flood in the community, assured the residents and people of the area, that the government’s intervention would soon be felt in the area.

“We are deeply sorry for your loss and trauma occasioned by the demise of your son, Abiodun Adeleke, while trying to help some residents of the area to cross the Asanmajana River last night. May almighty God continue to uphold and protect the family he left behind.”

The governor urged residents of Onilu-Moniya and Akinyele Local Government to be patient, noting that the long-awaited involvement would soon be evident in the area.

Mr. Bukola Akintola, Chairman of the Onilu Central Landlord Association, praised Governor Seyi Makinde for his prompt response and visit to the area in his speech.

The chairman expressed optimism and and trust in the present administration in the state saying that the Seyi Makinde led admin’s reputation in keeping to promises is noteworthy.
