Report reaching Oyomesioro has confirmed that four lives have been lost, while forty-three others have sustained injuries in an auto-crash along the Oyo-Ogbomoso high way, in the early hours of Wednesday.

The report further said the crash happened when a trailer conveying both humans and livestock, got to Sekona area and suddenly swerved off the road and toppled over.

The injured persons were rushed to a clinic at Sabo in Ogbomoso, and the dead persons were taken to the morgue of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Hospital Ogbomoso.

Eyewitnesses said the driver swerved off the road to avoid a head-on collision but the Oyo State Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Mrs Uche Chukwurah reported that it was a case of suspected fatigue as the driver slept off while handling the steering.

Meanwhile, she further verified that fifteen other persons survived the crash unscathed.

She said, “There was a crash this morning and four died, 43 were injured, 15 were rescued without injuries. They were taken to a clinic at Sabo while the dead were taken to LAUTECH.

“It was a lone accident. We suspect fatigue and sleeping on steering. It was a trailer carrying both humans and animals, goats and a total of 62 persons were involved.”
