Fire Razes Tyre Market In Agodi, Ibadan

A midnight inferno said to have started around 11 pm yesterday has razed the auto spare parts market in Agodi Gate, Ibadan.

An eyewitness said the fire outbreak destroyed properties and investments worth millions of naira. The source said the fire department’s swift response staved off the loss of lives at the inferno scene.

Another witness who lives close to the market said the electricity that was restored last night was the cause of the conflagration; there was a spark, and it caught the wares in the market, the market is popularly known to sell tyres for vehicles of any type.

The rate at which Markets are being razed in Oyo State is quite alarming.

Just a month ago, as the Oyo State Government is working towards completing Akesan Market in Oyo Town that got burnt a year ago, another famous market called Sabo Market was razed.
