Engr Adedeji Doherty, Chairman People’s Democratic Party PDP Lagos State Chapter, has recently turned his attention to disagreeing voices as an aftermath of some of the party Exco Members, including the State Deputy Chairman to the Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde.
He denied the allegations that the executive committee of the party in the state are not in one accord, saying that the executive committee is united and very strong.
He stated that he and other chieftain and stakeholders knew about the visit of the State Exco members.
He affirmed that his Administration is entirely in support of peace, reconciliation, strict adherence to the Rule of Law, our Party Constitution, and any move channeled towards the growth of the party, provided the moves are Honorable, devoid of disloyalty and dispute.
Engr Doherty repeated that it is unfortunate that despite several pleas and cry by himself and several other interested parties, the leadership of the party in Lagos has been unfailingly discarded, sidelined, and ignored by Governor Makinde.
He still advised the Governor to see the visitation as a sign of respect to his office and not a sign of victory over what the majority of leaders in Lagos State stand for.
He restated that the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde in the SouthWest by being the only sitting Governor is not in contention and is undisputed.
He, however, advised the Governor that in his bid to reposition the party in the SouthWest, he should do away with political sycophants, faultfinders, and ill-advisers who could endanger his ambition.
Advising Governor Makinde, Engr. Dougherty said the Governor should also meet with the party leaders who worked with him and ensured that he won his election
Doherty also said that he is seriously anticipating the Senator Bukola Saraki led Peace, Reconciliation and Strategy Committee that had been directed by the NWC led by National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus to wade into unfolding events in the party in the SouthWest.
He noted that he believes in the committee and its capacity to give the party the right direction in the region.
The Lagos State PDP Chairman used the opportunity to pray for the Oyo State Governor; good health, lots of wisdom, and God’s guidance in the herculean task ahead of him.
While praying that God also would uphold and strengthen the party and place it in its position of National power.
