Court Discharge and Acquits OPC Members over Iskiku Wakili Arrest



Three members of the Oodua People’s Congress (OPC) who were arrested and detained for their alleged role in arresting suspected Fulani warlord Iskilu Wakili have gotten their freedom.

Remember Wakili is the alleged bandit who was allegedly terrorising the Ayete community and other adjourning villages in the Ibarapa area of Oyo state.

The trio was arrested, charged to court and detained, but they were released on Tuesday by an Iyaganku Magistrate Court.

They are Dauda Kazeem, Awodele Adedigba and Ramon Hassan.

They were freed based on the Department of Public Prosecution (DPP) advice.


It court had ruled that the suspects should not be charged for any offence because there is no evidence to charge against them.

Remember that the trio was arrested in March.

Oyo State Coordinator of OPC, Comrade Rotimi Oguntade is also known as Oluomo confirmed the release.

They were initially granted bail on health grounds but were finally released without charges by the court.

The trio who arrived at the Agodi Correctional Centre at about 1 PM was later led to the office of the Oyo State Coordinator of OPC, Comrade Olumo.
