Ibadan based Boxer dies a month after fight



An Ibadan based boxer, Akeem Sadiku fondly called dodo by his fans has been reported dead. The news about his death was made public on Saturday morning by a Member of Sport Writers Association of Nigeria; Babatunde Saheed on his radio program at Fresh FM (105.9).
Dodo’s death came after a brief illness.

Recall that Dodo defeated George Amozu of Cote D’voire with a TKO in the fifth round in an international super middleweight challenge in December 27th
at the Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort (Hospitality) Ltd, Ibadan.

Sadiku who made his professional debut on 26 Dec 2009 has 9 Wins with 7 by knock out (KO) 1 Loss, 0 by KO and 1 Draw. Sadiku’s has KO ratio is 77%.

Dodo who was born on 1983-08-20 died at age 37.

Details of his death and funeral will be published in subsequent news bulletin.
