BCOS Refutes Rumours about Demolition of Staff Quarters by Oyo Govt

The Management of the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS) has reacted to a rumour making the rounds on social media about the corporation which stated that the Oyo State Government in collaboration with a private developer planned to embark on a demolition process of the BCOS Staff Quarters on Sunday, 18th of April.

According to a Press Statement signed by the Executive Chairman of the Corporation; Prince Dotun Oyelade, the BCOS Management stated that the social media claim was fake news and full of lies.

Oyelade further explained that the Management of the corporation had consistently and extensively communicated with residents of the expansive Staff Quarters which has been renamed, Engineer Lere Adigun Estate, on the development plans for the Estate.

The Management held that the interests of the residents will be protected and treated with the highest priority in any development plan or scheme.

The statement made it clear that the online claim is false, misleading and should be treated as fake news.

The chairman subsequently advised residents, the Corporation’s Labour Unions and all members of Staff to ignore what he described as an “unsubstantiated rumour”, adding that the Management will continue to engage the Labour Unions and the residents on the development plans for the Estate.
