The Chairman of Tinuoye Estate, Ojoo, Alhaji Muritala Ajamu led a delegation of people to pay a courtesy visit to Senator Soji Akanbi, to show gratitude to the Senator for having them at heart by ensuring 200 metres of their community dilapidated roads are tarred.
The Chairman described this gesture as an unexpected aid and the entire community were amazed at this intervention adding that this same road was made a campaign material by many politicians.
He said, “they always promised to fix it, they never did, for about ten years now, until Senator Akanbi came to our rescue.”
Mr Kamorudeen Alagbe, Vice-Chairman of the Association, delivering his appreciative note said “we are super grateful to Senator Akanbi for coming to our rescue. This is another testimonial that Senator Akanbi is a man that has the thought of the people at heart, as it is also evident in the various strides performed through Rilwan Adesoji Akanbi Foundation (RAAF) and the fact that even out of office as a lawmaker he is still performing excellently”.
The Secretary of the Association, Mr Akeem Wahab, and other members of the delegation, Mr Sola Olasode and Mr Abdul-Rahman Popoola, were present and applauded the Senator for this startling intervention and his other extraordinary works, saying he has been an active lawmaker, who while in or out of office, has consistently delivered to his people.
Kamorudeen Alagbe, a plank seller at Iso pako testified to his good works saying he provided solar-powered street lights at Iso Pako and cash empowerment for traders and business owners.
“His benevolence has helped businesses thrive and we are indeed grateful to Him and I pray that may Almighty God give him the grace to do more”, he said.
One could feel their happiness and gratitude in their heartfelt intense prayers for Senator Akanbi, even as they also relayed the appreciation of the entire community being represented. They prayed for his success in future endeavours, while wishing him well.
In his response, Senator Akanbi admired the team for the love, the prayers and the various words of encouragement adding that all other outstanding projects are duly noted, and in due time they will be executed for the good of the people.
He further stated that he did not embark and execute these projects by himself, he was driven and influenced by the former Chairman of Akinyele Local Government, Mr Ope Salami who was always following through and putting calls through to him regarding the project.
He applauded them and appreciated the fact that they are a well-organized community while also lauding their rigid support and cooperation throughout the project.
