Aare Ona Kankanfo Raises Alarm Over Murder of 4 Men by Wakilu’s Aides in Oyo

The Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, Iba Gani Adams, has drawn attention to the murder of four men at Idiyan Village, Igangan, Oyo State, allegedly committed by men suspected to be Iskilu Wakili’s men.

The four men were hacked to death about 2 am yesterday at the village, two of the slain men were members of the community police in the area.

Iba Adams, in a statement by his Special Assistant on Media, Kehinde Aderemi, said the four men were slaughtered cruelly.

Adding that the audio and visual evidence in his possession reflected that the killers have been terrorising the village and its environs, engaging in untold kidnapping and murder.

The Aare Ona Kakanfo said the criminals have ransoms totalling 800 million nairas from their captives. Adding that the security situation in the South-West is becoming terrifying.

He further added that the situation could have deteriorated if not for the interventions of the Oodua People’s Congress (OPC).

The Yoruba Generalissimo cautioned criminal herders to stay away from the region, emphasising that the OPC and other local security operatives will not relent in making the region safe for residents.

The Aare Ona Kakanfo, commenting on the arrest of four members of the OPC that caught the notorious Kidnapper, said it is shameful for the police to arrest the men that assisted them in catching the notorious kidnapper, Wakili and three of his men.

He, charged the police to ensure the release of the OPC members and focus on getting rid of the bandits and kidnappers operating in Igangan forests.
