In commemoration of their 100 days in office, the 33 LG Chairmen in Oyo state jointly commenced the distribution of stationeries to pupils in government-owned primary and secondary schools in the state.
The project, according to the LG Chairmen Is to complement the efforts of Oyo state governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, in the education sector so as to ensure a smooth learning process in the state.
The chairman of Ogbomoso North Local Government Area, honorable Akanji Kabir Ayoade, while speaking to newsmen regarding the project said the distribution of writing materials was part of measures to improve the quality of education in the state.
He went on to say that the distribution of the exercise books and other writing materials was linked to the state government’s earlier distribution of 2.7 million exercise books to public school students, which began in March.
Recall that governor Makinde requested the 33 local government chairmen to key in on his administration’s agenda of; health, Education , Security and Agriculture in their respective jurisdictions.
